In 2019, priority directions of Ukrainian energy’s development will be energy security, Eurobonds and gas-transport system unbundling. As virtually one-third of the energy resources, Ukraine consumes at the expense of natural gas. In the framework of new gas auctions, new obligatory condition will be invoked to the investor: a legal entity in Ukraine with officials who are not sub-sanctioned. At the beginning of December 2018, the first ten oil and gas license areas were put up for auction, the deadline for submission of proposals will be on March 5, 2019, and the auction will schedule on March 6, 2019. In addition, there are intentions to implement another 20 licensed oil and gas sites. Such a mass sale of plots in Ukraine will be held for the first time. Due to the urgency of the topic, the first forum of the energy week will be the Ukrainian Investment Oil and Gas Forum, which will traditionally discuss the oil and gas market in Ukraine, its development and integration with the EU.
Renewable energy sources become more popular in Ukraine. As of January 1, 2019, Ukraine generates 2239 MW of renewable energy: the capacity of all wind energy facilities is 533 MW, solar power – 1389 MW, bioenergy – 97 MW. Experts determine the key points for developing future investment projects – it is cheapening of projects and speeding up their implementation of projects due to great competition. Auctions, an increase in the number of stations and other issues will traditionally be discussed at the second forum of the Ukrainian Energy Week, the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Forum, which will consider in detail wind power, solar and bioenergy.
Energy efficiency is undoubtedly relevant to Ukraine, but not only in the broad sense, but also for each individual building. The issues of insulation of houses are actively engaged in the association of co-owners of multi-apartment buildings. Currently, the number of condominiums in Ukraine is 33 thousand units, which is 2.5 times more than in 2014, according to the Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Gennadiy Zubko. As for the insulation of buildings, 77.5% of residential multi-apartment buildings and 77.7% of non-residential premises are equipped with heat energy meters. Due to the growing interest in the concept of ACMHs, the Ukrainian Housing Cooperative Forum will convene for the second time, which will gather ACMHs, board members and members of the initiative groups.
