I participated yesterday at an event with a few marketing people and owners. It was very interesting, but I do not want to tell you about this event, I will probably write about it on the blog. I want to tell you how I came out of the two key questions of the event. Virtually all marketing specialists were asked this way, and responses were timed out: 1. What are the main roles of marketing? 2. What, in short, results from the marketing strategy.
So, as I answered:
What are the main roles of marketing? My answer: Image and sales support.
What, in short, is the marketing strategy? My answer: Effective ways of linking product / service and customer / customer.
In the first phase I won because of the short answer time, but before I was awarded I was asked to explain.
To the surprise of those present, the explanations were short. For example, at the first point, I said so: The image is the marketing strategy for tomorrow, and sales support is the marketing strategy for today. If we now understand both needs, today we will be successful with great efforts, and tomorrow the efforts will be lower and the benefits very high.
It is what I believe, and if you allow me, the essence of my 17 years of experience in this field. I know, my colleagues have different views or more complex situations, but they will give me justice over time.
Let’s hear only good things!
